0:05 welcome to this training on the four
0:08 gates to Peak team performance the
0:11 brain-based approach for creating great
0:13 teams I'm Dr Brit andreata and I'm
0:15 pleased to share with you my research
0:17 which I detail in my book wired to
0:20 connect the brain science of teams and a
0:23 new model for creating collaboration and
0:25 inclusion what we're going to cover in
0:27 this session is what teams look like
0:31 today the brain science of teams
0:33 survival and safety we're also going to
0:36 look at belonging and inclusion trust
0:38 and purpose and you're going to be
0:40 introduced to the model the four gates
0:42 to Peak team
0:45 performance so let's talk about teams
0:46 today all of us have been on teams in
0:49 various stages of our careers and some
0:51 of those teams have been great and
0:53 others not so much what we know about
0:57 teams is that 90% of employees spend a
1:01 third to a half of each day working in
1:04 teams 91% of employees and Executives
1:06 believe that teams are Central to their
1:11 organization success and yet 30% of
1:13 employees have considered leaving their
1:15 job because of negative team
1:17 environments Patrick lyion who's an
1:20 author who studies team said it's not
1:23 Finance it's not strategy and it's not
1:26 technology it is teamwork that is the
1:28 ultimate competitive Advantage both
1:32 because it is so powerful and so rare so
1:33 we're going to talk about that in this
1:37 training how to create great teams and
1:38 why it's important is that we've
1:40 actually moved to this new way of
1:44 working uh Bon and deoe track how things
1:46 change in organizations and they have
1:48 this model of how our management
1:50 philosophies have changed over time and
1:52 right now we're at the beginning of this
1:54 phase of network of teams where we're
1:57 moving from hierarchical structures to
1:59 networks of teams and matrices of teams
2:02 work across organizational lines it's
2:04 how work is getting done today all
2:07 around the world so most of us when we
2:09 think of the word team we picture a
2:11 sports team and sports teams are
2:14 certainly teams and we see them all
2:17 around but you know what this is also a
2:20 team this is also a
2:23 team so is
2:26 this and is
2:30 this this is also a team
2:32 these folks are a
2:34 team this is also a
2:36 team as is
2:39 this and many of us get where we're
2:42 going relying on these teams in fact we
2:44 can be on teams with people we never
2:47 actually meet in person and we can be
2:49 part of teams that are Global so I want
2:51 you to think about what teams look like
2:52 in your
2:54 organization what percentage of work is
2:57 being done by teams and what kind of
